cAll students start taking Spanish in kindergarten. Kindergarteners have lessons in Spanish twice a week for 20 minutes. They learn colors, shapes, numbers, animals, greetings, calendar, and many Spanish songs. I enjoy teaching them through books, games, crafts, and music.
How can you help at home? Encourage and praise your child when you hear him/her using Spanish vocabulary. Have your child "teach you" the words we are learning. As the year progresses, students should bring home weekly projects that were done in class to practice and review vocabulary.
